In this SundayArts profile, Mark Morris‘ inspiration for dance always comes from music. Watch archival footage of Morris at work as the choreographer takes a look at his long career and explains the process of creating dance for Orfeo ed Euridice for the Metropolitan Opera.

This segment was pure joy. Mr. Morris is extraordinarily articulate and adorable, and the images and all too brief bits of his marvelous works left me hungering for more. Fortunately, I will see his Romeo & Juliet, On Motifs of Shakespeare this week.

Thank you for the archival footage! I loved seeing young Mark cooking in his little apartment. Thrilling and civilized, indeed!
