Dorothea Rockburne
Posted: August 5th, 2011

Dorothea Rockburne does not make art a man would make. She makes, as she herself explains, “strong woman art.” In this SundayArts Profile, the artist speaks in her SoHo studio about her work, which is often inspired by mathematics, astronomy, and philosophy. Rockburne had her first museum retrospective at the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton, New York from June 19 to August 14, 2011

Refreshing! Fabulous pictures of her work; inviting the viewer to want to see more. Hopefully, it motivates people to see the retrospective at the Parrish Art Museum in Southhampton and to purchase the wonderful catalogue accompanying it with excellent essays by outstanding thinkers.

I have the catalogue, it’s a must have. Great collection and insight of Dorothea’s work and an interesting read.
