Visit Purchase college and meet Jacque Trussel, the director, and Eric Barry, previously featured for Young Opera and the star of last spring’s premier production of The Tempest at Purchase College. Learn about the multifaceted perspectives on the role of Caliban. They talk about the importance of the aria “Be Not Afeared” and how it allows insight into the character of Caliban from a librettist and composer’s point of view.
I heard the chat and three notes of music and then it flashed back to the beginning - so I can’t comment this time! Sorry
This young man is as truely a fine person as he is a singer. The fact that he is the later is a an amazing story in itself of an undiscovered talent untill a few years ago even by himself. I see nothing but great things in his future and look forward to watch it unfold as one of his biggest fans. Well done Eric, well done.
Great talent, great passion and great production and presentation.
Amazing and intuitive, and truly intellectual in both its structure and presentation. Introspective completely achieved - and the performance afterward wasn’t that bad either. Who was that interviewer who connected so well with the Jacque Trussel, the director, and Eric Barry?
Congratulations Eric! Very proud to have you as a member of Opera Singers Initiative.
