Rev. Dr. Tony Gibson Says:

Hi Jim:
Thanks for sharing this video with me. I am going to pass it on to my Son, Steve, the architect here in Darien. You made an excellent presentation. I learned much about the Cathedral. It is a beautiful building but remember the words of Jesus to his disciples when they were enamored with the Temple in Jerusalem: “See ye not lall these things?verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” Keep your eyes on Jesus.

Keep your eyes on Jesus, indeed. I think the question is what you do with those stones and it seems to me the Cathedral of St. John the Divine has a long hsitory of using these stones in a Gospel centered way. Congratulations, Jim. Keep up the good work! Brett

vele groeten mijn vriend en broer . . . what a joy and delight to receive this message and video from Our Home . . . so much phenomenal history and the restoration is breath.taking . . and still my most favorite is the ” Blessing of the Beasts ” for the Feast of Saint Francis with all the barking and meaowing and chirping and squaking and noises of our Animal Friends . . . still gives me both awe and pause to extend my arms to ” Brother Sun and Sister Moon ” and all of Creation to join in Exultation ! Thank you for your friendship and inclusion !

Jim,
I had heard the cathedral was gorgeous, but words don’t do it justice. It’s breathtaking! Congratulations on the completion of the restoration project. May God use the beauty of the cathedral to lure the lost - so that you have even greater opportunities to spread the message of salvation! Have a joyous Easter.
