In this SundayArts segment get a look at the original art that went into the famous comic book by Alan Moore and the recent movie based on the book at the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art. On view are photographs by Clay Enos of the Watchmen movie cast and original artwork from the graphic novel co-created and illustrated by Dave Gibbons. Also get a look at original covers and color guides from the original publication of the graphic novel in 1986. Co-curators Ellen S. Abramowitz and Peter Sanderson guide you through this new exhibit.
Jennifeer, MoCCA is in New York City in Soho. Since there are other museums that have these initials, the thing to remember, other than it is “dot-org” is that it has NY in its URL

This is fantastic I absolutely love comics. The old collectibles and comic series in black and white are great and I love how the whole process of illustration merges with color artists and then on to action films. I have never read Watchman but now I will be interested in it. Where is this MoCCa museum at? I wish it was coming to Michigan. Thanks for sharing.
I wish the exhibit would come up here to Canada.
What a great subject told in a easy to understand story. It’s nice to see Sunday Arts doing something cool, for the younger crowd.
This is giant step forward in the visual sophistication of Sunday arts. This piece should be singled out for its ability to speak to a younger demographic. Cheers!
What a great overview of MoCCA, the exhibit and the movie. A great piece. Can’t wait to get to the show.
I loved the PBS piece reviewing the exhibit….explaining the complicated move from graphic art to motion film. I’m definitely going to visit MOCCA for this one! Fantastic job, Ellen and Peter.

Thanks Sunday Arts for showing this piece. I am going to make a special trip to MOCCA, and maybe even go to the movie.
PBS is so HIP previewing graphic novels - something my teenagers would be interested in!
