THIRTEEN PBS
Ceramics at the Met

On the new mezzanine of the Charles Engelhard Court, part of the renovated American Wing, see the collection of over 250 pieces of American ceramics from 1876 to 1956, the promised gift of Robert A. Ellison, Junior. This extraordinary array of ceramic-making is from the time of the 1876 centennial - a watershed event where Americans exhibitted wares that showed a distinctly American character.
