Alexei Ratmansky

Since 2004, Alexei Ratmansky, born in St. Petersburg, has held the position as the director of the Bolshoi Ballet and has a resume that includes dancing with the Kiev Ballet, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and was a principal dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet. A man who speaks his mind, during his tenure with the Bolshoi he has upset both the Duma and the diehard balletomanes even though his box office numbers remain strong.
