Synopsis:

“Joint custody blows” is the tagline of this funny, haunting 2005 drama by Noah Baumbach. Jeff Daniels and Laura Linney star as Brooklyn intellectuals mired in a messy divorce, and Jesse Eisenberg (Adventureland) is the teenage son caught in the middle. Baumbach was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.

Brooklyn native Noah Baumbach made his feature debut with Kicking and Screaming (2005), which garnered critical praise and earned him a spot on Newsweek’s 1996 list of “New Faces to Watch” in the film world. In 2004, he co-wrote The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou with Wes Anderson, and went on to direct The Squid and the Whale and Margot at the Wedding (2007), starring Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Recently, he co-wrote an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Fantastic Mr. Fox which is currently in post-production.
