Synopsis:

A young boy, Xiao Chun (Tang Yun), proves to be a massive talent when it comes to the violin, so his father (Liu Peigi) helps him find the best teacher in Beijing, far away from their hometown. There, Xiao Chun meets a nightclub worker with a heart of gold and finds true friendship. Directed by Chen Kaige.

This is one of the most beautiful films. I am so thankful I have been able to see it. It’s simply magnificent.

What a wonderful film.
I sat on the edge of my sofa the whole time…
Some movies are so well written but this one is definitely a master piece.
The WHOLE cast was remarkable….

What a great tear jercker! Watched it three times, on the third I got my husband to watch it too. I had to read the subtitels to him,it’s a bit fast. I love Chen Kaige movies, saw them all. Thank You for presenting it. Doreen A. Pigey

This was absolutely one of the best stories, wonderfully made film. Loved it, will try to get a copy of it and invite a bunch of kids from my daughter’s youth orchestra to watch it with us again!
