Wow! To create such an atmosphere and tell such a big story in so little time… I expect we’re going to hear a lot more from Bram Schouw in the future!

This movie really got under my skin. You gotta love this. Amazing.

Geema4 -- June 14th, 2009 at 2:13 pm

I cried inside for him……EXTREMELY powerful and telling film. I watched it again with hopes that the swastika was a NY Yankees insigna, not. I cried some more. I can stand to watch it ONLY one more time. For some reason, I must.

Chanel -- June 18th, 2009 at 5:47 am

this is a real wake-up call…

Everybody: Let’s wake up - and do not judge people - every one has his own suffering. Its this suffering that is being communicated brilliantly!!! Compliments 4 Bram and his crew!!!!

Lide van der Vegt -- June 18th, 2009 at 4:05 pm

Bram, just beautiful filmwork of you. Go on! Lide

Filmfreak -- June 18th, 2009 at 5:55 pm

This film should’ve won. How could that other thing win? Felt like there was some cheating going on.
The winner truly made a horrible film. I shouldn’t even call it film.
DISAPPOINTED!

ml75 -- June 18th, 2009 at 7:38 pm

THE REAL WINNER is here!!!! Impasse

janjansonwithmypantson -- June 18th, 2009 at 7:46 pm

It’s reallly easy to vote twice with a normal househeld pc or mac,
I also think it’s a scheme, maybe a jewbot or bug.

ObjectiveFilmCritic -- June 18th, 2009 at 7:47 pm

I’m an objective film critic from Nashville, Tennessee and I do not, I repeat: I do nót understand that this film hasn’t won this election. The Louise film is well…crappy if I may use that word. I guess Filmfreak is right and the fact that the other short won with just one vote ahead of this beautiful piece of film smells like cheating…and I can tell you one thing, cheating stinks.

I hope Thirteen will take the necessary steps.

Jo Watson -- June 18th, 2009 at 11:21 pm

Beautifully tense, right to the very end it held my undivided attention. Subtle and powerful.

Sophia -- June 19th, 2009 at 12:26 am

im confused as to why this film didnt win- ITS WONDERFUL!!! i truly loved it- great job- the silence is breathtaking :)

Tease -- June 19th, 2009 at 1:57 am

How can this movie not win ?

I don’t suspect cheating, i KNOW.

mo -- June 19th, 2009 at 2:29 am

excellent acting from both leads Mutaleni - you are a shining star! What a great excecution of the topic from the director.

Sandy: ) -- July 30th, 2009 at 10:50 am

I have a really hard time with incidents like this. Just proves something I’d learned a long time ago. Too many people waste time and opportunity by not using words to express how they really feel. Fear of taking risks/fear of rejection seem to rule too often in this world… What a wasted opportunity to connect and perhaps find joy…!

Nikki -- November 29th, 2009 at 8:33 pm

As a writer I always prefer when actors can speak without speaking, and as a viewer I like being surprised. Thank you for a well made film.

Paul de Heer -- December 3rd, 2009 at 2:05 pm

Grote Groet,

Paul

Carla -- March 19th, 2010 at 8:41 pm

The silence and my emotions were overwhelming! Brilliant!

Devon -- March 31st, 2010 at 4:31 pm

Excellent. Eyes and expression speak louder than words. Thank you.

Steve -- April 18th, 2010 at 10:09 am

Didn’t like it at all. Why is it only Whites are portrayed as racists? There are plenty of Black racists also. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Rev. Wright, Jamie Foxx, Maxine Waters.

Tom Bowler -- April 22nd, 2010 at 4:39 pm

I guess it’s too late to vote but I would have voted for the mild mannered, bashful and repressed Skin Head with the swastika on his back. What a surprise! i was so taken by the looks and almost smiles. Who of us riding subways and haven’t been smitten at some time or other, especially when we were young.I was rooting for both of these youngsters and then… Could they have over come that huge divide… that impasse? We’ll never know but hope springs eternal. Biotope was my second choice. i liked the animation and the figure drawing. story was a little garbeled and unclear though. Orange crush was third because it was too silly and actually horrible for a vegetarian like myself.

Repertoriumfilms -- November 5th, 2010 at 5:41 pm

Brilliant!

What a great film, you feel their future vanished bcs of prejudice…
