Object of Beauty (1991)

Jelly is a modern take on an 80s-inspired romantic comedy. What’s your favorite recent romantic comedy? Richard Pena likes Object of Beauty with John Malkovich and Andie Macdowell.

Of really recent romantic comedies, I got a big kick out of “The Proposal” with a superb duo - Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.

I’d add “Love Actually,” with each individual story you’re cheering them on. “Moonstruck” a wonderfully constructed script and great cast. “Sleepless in Seattle” an great original take on an old story; “The American President” a nice mixing of politics and romance; “Working Girl” because everyone roots for the underdog, and “About a Boy” because it has good arcs and makes you smile.
