Howard Hawks was one of Hollywood’s most versatile directors.  What’s your favorite Howard Hawks film? Neal Gabler loves “His Girl Friday.”

My favorite Howard Hawks film is one that probably few others would choose: “Land of the Pharaohs” (Warner Bros., 1955). Another is “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” (20th Century Fox, 1953).

I really enjoy Howard Hawks’films - but I especially love “Red River” with John Wayne and Montgomery Clift and John Ireland as Cherry Valance and “Rio Bravo” with that incredible, incredible cast.
