  • New York City Council
    The Web site for the New York City Council features an overview of the Council's role and history, descriptions of recent legislation and hearings, and detailed information about individual Council members.

  • New York City Campaign Finance Board
    The Campaign Finance Board's Web site explains how the new 4-1 matching program works and offers a searchable database that allows users to follow the money trail for individual campaigns.

  • New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG)
    NYPIRG is a non-profit research and advocacy organization primarily focused on environmental preservation, consumer protection, government reform, and public health issues. The NYPIRG Council Finder page allows voters to simply type in their address and zip code to get their Council Member's name, address, phone, and email address. The site's Who Represents Me? section similarly allows users to find their local, state, or national representatives by entering their address into a search engine.

  • New York City Board of Elections
    The Board of Elections' site offers information on how to register as well as where to find your designated polling station.

  • Savvyvoter.org
    A nonpartisan election forum and information resource for New York voters, Savvyvoter.org includes information on which officials are up for election in 2002 as well as articles outlining major issues facing voters today.

  • Project Vote Smart
    Web site featuring a wealth of voter information, including a link to the voting records of local and national elected officials.

  • Voter Assistance Commission (VAC)
    A nonpartisan government agency created in 1988 by the New York City Charter to encourage and facilitate voter registration and voter participation. The Web site features a downloadable voter registration form.

  • Common Cause
    Lobbying organization dedicated to ending corruption in government and the influence of high-spending special interest groups. The Web site has a local section for New York City Common Cause.

  • Opensecrets.org
    The Web site of the Center for Responsive Politics, a national organization that tracks money in politics and its effect on elections and public policy.

  • League of Women Voters of the City of New York
    A strictly nonpartisan organization working to influence public policy through education. This Web page is devoted to the New York chapter of the national organization.

  • Voter Empowerment Program
    The NAACP Voter Empowerment Program is dedicated to empowering the African-American community by aiding their full inclusion in America's political and social system.

  • NY Citizens
    Comprehensive resource of voter information for New York State residents.

  • Federal Election Commission
    The FEC's Web site offers detailed information on elections and voting, campaign finance laws, and more.
