Q: Do you have any interesting and/or amusing behind-the-scenes stories about the making of this particular work?
A: The shooting of this piece was without too many hassles, but my friend Jay Hufford (another cameraman) and I sometimes had to jostle with other photographers, who, like us, were drawn to the memorial lights. Despite wet and freezing temperatures, the area was rarely deserted. For another scene, it looks like the cameraman (another friend, Mic Knight) might have had to hike into a remote wood, but actually he was just a few feet from a crowded sidewalk. The klieg lights crisscrossing the sky were actually at the entrance to a theme park. His biggest trouble was evading the security guys who were wondering why he had stepped into the scenery and set up a camera.
