Q: What inspired you to make this piece?

A: BARELY AUDIBLE was inspired by the compelling poetry of Chinaka Hodge. The poem touches upon issues that all three filmmakers are committed to bringing to a wider audience.

Q: Do you have any interesting and/or amusing behind-the-scenes stories about the making of this particular work?

A: Chinaka Hodge was Eli Jacobs-Fantauzzi's former student. They ran into each other at Bowery Poetry Club where Chinaka was performing BARELY AUDIBLE. Soon thereafter Katherine, Eli, and Vivian teamed up at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU.
