Reel NY back
The Brooklyn Pigeon Project film & video features
about the work

THE BROOKLYN PIGEON PROJECT reveals the fruits of the unique project by the same name, devised by architect Benjamin Aranda, to record New York from a whole new perspective -- that of a flock of birds. This piece is a collection of the footage from Aranda's efforts, which involved equipping pigeons with wireless video cameras and microphones and then sending them off on their unpredictable flight patterns. The end result is an unconventional portrait of the world below that confronts the limits of the city's grid by creating an equally rich disclosure of life here.
