The second episode (June 10) is devoted to one film, FEARFUL VISITATION: THE GREAT NEW YORK STEAMBOAT FIRE OF 1904, by Philip Dray and Hank Linhart, which commemorates the 100th anniversary of the General Slocum disaster in New York's East River that claimed more than 1,000 lives. Before the September 11th terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, the General Slocum fire was considered the greatest disaster in New York City history. "Imaging Society" (June 17) offers a collection of works exploring various social issues.
