Q: Is there a relationship between your work as a video/filmmaker and life in the New York metropolitan area? A: I am totally and utterly inspired by the alternating chaos and clam of New York City. Even if my work is not set in New York explicitly, I am always moved by its energy. Q: Have recent advantages in technology changed the way you work? A: The first formal training I had as a filmmaker was, in fact, working with film. In the last 4-5 years I've only worked on non-linear editing systems and if I shoot on film, I still edit on video. BAR TALK would not have been possible without video -- or at least, not in the timeframe that I was looking to work in. |
