Q: What inspired you to make this piece?

A: I like to think of BAR TALK as a movie about communication. My friends and I used to joke about the kind of people we see at bars or a clubs who look totally unapproachable -- as if they are simply too cool for everyone. On one hand, this gives them an air of mystery and makes them intriguing. On the other hand, what is the point of going out to meet people if you aren't going to attempt to take part in the process of social interaction? What are these people trying to communicate with their eyes, their body language or their movements that they might never say out loud? I tried to transform these ideas into a story and BAR TALK is the result.
