Q: How did you fund this particular film/video, and what is your general experience in seeking funding for your work?
A: WALL was funded by the Poetry Society of America through their Poetry in Motion student film contest. I supplemented the production costs with a small grant from the Experimental Television fund and student loans. To date I have paid for my films out of my own pocket for two reasons: One is creative -- I wanted to explore my own visions without answering to a funding source. And one is the time factor -- I have not had time to seriously research and apply for funding. But now that I have successfully completed a few films I plan to seek funding for my future projects. And possibly shoot commercials to pay for my art.
