Q: What inspired you to make this piece?
A: I made this animation inspired by everyday life in New York City, my nostalgia for Mexican culture, and symbols from both cultures. It is a whimsical, humorous animation that transposes elements from Mexican culture onto the cityscape of Manhattan and how playfully they intertwine.
Q: Do you have any interesting and/or amusing behind-the-scenes stories about the making of this particular work?
A: It was funny that I came up with these ideas about 18 years ago when I first moved to New York and didn't imagined that one day I will put movement to them.
