This fractured fairy tale features a delusional protagonist, the Big Time Operator, who thinks he can dupe the children of the world into buying his "magic elixir." Using music and a disjunctive narrative, much of this piece operates like a sing-song children's rhyme, with a chorus of youngsters pleading for truthfulness and an old man shuffling to stay ahead. With the repetition of images, music, and the repulsive image of an old man deceiving little children, this is a perfect tale of good and evil -- an analogy for our present capitalist/consumer state.
