It is in the rare moments of intimacy shared between friends that the most important things are given voice. Here we are privy to just such a discussion between peers, one African-American and one Asian-American, trying to sort out their own positions in a predominantly white culture. The setting of this elegantly filmed piece is a downtown bar. As the discussion between the two protagonists departs from exploring the ways in which people of color operate within a white world, and begins to focus on developing a network and understanding of how to proudly function as a person of color, one notices that the cuts to the background characters shifts from presenting mostly white bar-goers to people of color.
