Q: What films/videos and makers have inspired you or influenced your work? And why?

A: I remember the first time I saw MAI'S AMERICA, by Marlo Poras. It was in 2000, I had just arrived in NYC after graduating film school in Texas and I was trying to find my way through the world of film production. When I saw this film I felt like I had found the medium where I could create. Another film that inspired me is SOUTHERN COMFORT, by Kate Davis. I admire both filmmakers and the way they bring up important issues through very personal and intimate stories.
