Q: What films/videos and makers have inspired you or influenced your work? And why?
A: The verité cinema from New York in the 60s and 70s. I was thinking about the approach filmmakers like the Maysles, Pennebaker, and Wiseman were taking here at that time. It wasn't so much the films themselves that inspired me, it was more the individuals making them and their approach to filmmaking. I also admire Caveh Zahedi and his outlook on capturing images and the idea of a "holy moment" that can happen at any time as long as you learn to appreciate the moment you are in.
