A: (cont'd.) like Madge Gill, Adolf Wolfi, and A.G. Rizzoli. Like these artists, Phil Coppola's entire body of work seems to exist within the boundaries of handmade folk art. (However, unlike most outsider artists, Phil's artwork is very much rooted in reality.) In any event, we looked towards the uniqueness and the complexity of outsider art to find a way to present Phil's work as something wholly unique and completely unlikely.
