Q: What inspired you to make this piece?
A: GAZA BOOK OF LONGING was made in response to a call-for-work by the Hard Pressed Collective and Charles Street Video in Toronto. They were curating a screening program for the Tranz Tech Media Art Biennial called The Olive Project: Two Minutes for Peace and Justice. The videos made for this program express solidarity for the annual Palestinian olive harvest and address the delicate balance between the imperatives of politics and art.
