Q: What films/videos and makers have inspired you or influenced your work? And why? A: Most recently and certainly the biggest influence on CHINESE DREAM, for me, is Wong Kar-Wai. Aside from his production's amazingly provocative aesthetic, I'm very fascinated by the storytelling. He'd rather eschew the facts of time, setting, and character for an over-all impression of them. It's very much like a cinematic novel. That, in my mind, can lead to more proficient storytelling. |
