Q: What inspired you to make this piece?
A: PSA No. 7: ANTHEM is part of a series of fifteen three minute public service announcement films which speak out against the American occupation of Iraq and the act of war. I made this work as a protest and challenge to the ongoing silence and lies in the media about the war. Politically PSA No. 7 is inspired by the protests during the Vietnam era and is influenced by the visuals and aesthetics of the 70s and by Andy Warhol's disaster series.
