Q: What inspired you to make this piece?
A: I met the group Second 2 Last for the first time when they were being featured in a documentary I was shooting. It was a striking experience, both visually and intellectually. Their performance on a Williamsburg rooftop stayed with me for days, as did the things they said when interviewed. I remember thinking that I hadn't heard conversation so free of platitudes for a long time. When the shoot was over, I mentioned that we might try to do something together sometime. I hadn't yet defined what it was we might do when I got a call from Johny suggesting we make a music video for URBAN RHAPSODY.
