Q: What inspired you to make this piece?
A: I saw street art as topic that would allow me to explore and synthesis several different themes and ideas, such as subversiveness, issues of public space and public expression issues, consumerism and commodity cycles, the way marketing and branding function in our society, ideas of art vs. vandalism, and ideas of class, in terms of the public's perception of graffiti in the late 70s and 80s and the way street art is perceived.
