Q: What is the relationship between your work as a video/filmmaker and life in the New York metropolitan area?
A: I have lived in New York for 24 years and been shooting videos about visual artists since 1988. What brought me to New York was my own involvement in the fine arts and my interest in the legendary artists who lived here. Everything about New York for me is its art world and making videos about it and the artists. Making videos became the other extension in my visual life of painting. Not art videos, but ones about artists and the visual potential of shooting and editing. Making art and videos are all the same, and the city is an endless resource.
