Q: Briefly tell us about how you made your film or video.
A: I shoot in DV and edit on the newer Media 100 systems. My goal was to shoot this video in just four setups -- the opening night, the installation of the work at the gallery without any people, one of Andres' photo sessions, and the studio interview with just Andres. I shot four hours of video for this 12-minute piece. There is also a 26-minute version with more comments [from] opening night and a longer interview with Andres.
Having a fine arts background and being a painter as well, I relate to the editing monitor as a canvas. The same visual principles in painting apply ...
