A: (cont'd.) I think because of the close proximity of everything. There is a codependency among New Yorkers that makes everyone's world seem a little more accessible, so it's very easy to stay inspired.

Q: What films/videos and makers have inspired you or influenced your work? And why?

A: I really enjoy filmmakers who are interested in exploring new formulas or fresh ways to communicate using film, people who invent very distinctive techniques. [Abbas] Kiarostami, Brakhage, Spencer Nakasako, and Heddy Honigmann all come to mind.
