Q: Do you have any interesting behind-the-scenes stories about the making of this particular work?
A: I really stumbled upon the most fascinating piece of A THOUSAND WORDS, the footage from Vietnam. My dad didn't even know he still had it in his possession. It was in an old shoebox, stuffed in his closet. During the interview, I told him I found this footage he took, and he didn't believe me. I showed him a tape of it after the interview, and he was quiet for a very long time. He remembered the faces but not all of their names.
