Q: What films/videos and makers have inspired you or influenced your work? And why?

A: I'm into 1960s Disney films, when they used xerography, that rough style where you can really see black pencil lines. I'm also into [two] Dutch animators, Hisko Hulsing and Børge Ring. I'm also into comic artists like Jamie Hewlett. Classically, I'm obsessed with Charles Bargue. Lastly, I'm inspired by personal experiences and living in a city like New York; there's endless inspiration here, as long as you like people. [It's] not the best place to be if your films are about trees.
