Q: What is the relationship between your work as a video/filmmaker and life in the New York metropolitan area?
A: I love making films in New York. It's hard not to sound clichéd, but I am always confronted by new faces, bodies, languages, styles, every day, whenever I step out my door. It's incredibly energizing and exciting and great fodder for fantasy -- to imagine who my fellow citizens are, where they come from, what they're thinking, and what their lives are about. It keeps me on my toes. Can't get much better than that.
