A:
(cont'd.) approval for our location. The next day I couldn't call my cast and crew. So I had to run around knocking on people's doors and shouting up to their windows to tell them where and when to meet. I also couldn't reach Costco. Their number was busy the whole day; we were supposed to start shooting at 8 p.m. So we drove an hour to Port Chester, three cars, 20 or so people, not knowing what we'd find. Costco had lost hundreds of thousands of dollars that night, but they still let us shoot from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. They were incredibly generous. I have shot with dogs and horses, with young children, with the cast and crew in freezing water, all sorts of challenges, but that was the most challenging production problem I've ever had.
