A: (cont'd.) It was when I was planning a November 2004 return to my script for a rewrite (a grueling routine of three hours every morning at my computer) that I got the call from REEL NEW YORK. The offer to deliver a five-minute film for the 10-year anniversary was an opportunity to do a scene from my script and have something to promote it. These characters would come to life for me! But I didn't know if I could handle the deadline. That's when my friend actor/writer/producer Peter Parros came on board as co-screenwriter to help me with the daunting task of turning a scene into a short film. And the end result was an incredible surprise in the storyline, part of which came out of improvisational rehearsals with my actors.
