Q: What films/videos and makers have inspired you or influenced your work? And why?
A: Jean Vigo's films. Stills by Eugene Atget, Walker Evans, Leon Levinstein, [and] Gary Winogrand. Street photographers and filmmakers including Helen Levitt (IN THE STREET) and Robert Frank (THE PRESENT). I like the way all of them transcend the limitations of photojournalism and do not prettify, sentimentalize, or commercialize city life.
