Q: What is the relationship between your work as a video/filmmaker and life in the New York metropolitan area?
A:
I've been shooting on the streets of New York for almost 20 years. It's a big part of my life. It's true that the city has gotten much less distinctive over time; there are 90 Starbucks within a two-mile radius of Astor Place. That sort of thing makes the city less interesting to shoot.
