Q: What inspired you to make this piece?
A:
Manifesting the nostalgic arcade game characters as fleshy critters, capable of actions other than falling from the sky, and upturning the idea that invaders such as these come from space; they come from inner space. The project began with an urge to personify someone I knew who was a menace, literally a space invader, [who] took up all the space. This person was a fear producer, propagating invented supernatural mythologies about the everyday, with the intention to scare loved ones into doubting their own perceptions and buying into this person's omnipotence. ...
