When Robert Castillo and his brothers were growing up in Chelsea, Massachusetts, the neighborhood kids gave them a nickname they didn't know was actually a racial slur. This frank documentary, which takes its title from the slur, recalls Castillo's 1977 arrival in New York from the Dominican Republic, where he was being raised by his grandmother. When he returned to the United States, where he was born, and to his parents, he experienced quite a shock. |
