Synopsis:

In 2005’s Thumbsucker, Justin (Lou Taylor Pucci) throws himself and everyone around him into chaos when he attempts to break free from his addiction to his thumb by experimenting with hypnosis, sex and drugs. Mike Mills’s dark comedy features an all-star supporting cast, including Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton, Vincent D’Onofrio, Vince Vaughan, Benjamin Bratt, and Keanu Reeves.

Writer-director Mike Mills adapted Walter Kirn’s novel for Thumbsucker, earning an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best First Feature for his work. A 1989 graduate of Cooper Union in New York City, Mills’s creative roots are in the subcultures of punk rock and skateboarding. He has created ads for The Gap, Volkswagon, and Nike, and videos for such musical acts as Moby, Yoko Ono and Air. Thumbsucker was an official selection of the 2005 Sundance Film Festival.
