Discussion: What’s your favorite movie soundtrack?

The soundtrack for THUMBSUCKER features tracks by the indie band The Polyphonic Spree as well as a few songs by late singer-songwriter Elliott Smith. What’s your favorite movie soundtrack? Do you think that having one artist provide songs for a film, a la Simon & Garfunkel for THE GRADUATE, adds anything?

John Barry’s film score for Body Heat is outstanding! Captures both the neo-noir mystique of the film as well as the balmy, relaxed feel of Florida. A fine pairing of screen play and composer.

“Good, Bad, Ugly”, by Ennio Morricone

“Story of a Soldier”, my favorite track.

Also, “”La Missione San Antonio”, on the extended version.

Pretty much anything by Hans Zimmer. He’s done a whole lot of movies but he’s probably best known for Pirates of the Caribbean and Interstellar. His movies sound downright amazing.
