New Orleans, Mon Amour is a modern gloss of “Jekyll and Hyde.” What’s your favorite movie version of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic?
I do like Victor Fleming’s 1941 version, “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”, which starred Spencer Tracy, Ingrid Bergman and Lana Turner.
Tracy’s version is my favorite, too, but March and Barrymore were soooo great! Even Jack Palance gave it a good hearted try. It’s such a wonderful character(s) for an actor to go to town on!
Anthony Perkins starred in a new version of the oft-told story in the 1989 film, “Edge of Sanity”. In that one, Perkins gave a spellbinding performance that was also uninhibited and even daring.
