I soooo enjoyed “Some Like It Hot”. Great, great
film. I NEVER tire seeing it.

  • Douglas

What a fun question! My favorite film with Marilyn…”All About Eve.” But that’s really not MM’s movie, is it? My favorite MM film is “Some Like It Hot.”

However, my favorite MM performances are:

    1) “Bus Stop” because her Cherie is so sweet, vulnerable, touching.

    2) “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” because MM is…well, she’s Lorelei Lee, a dancing-singing-comedic Little Girl from Little Rock.

  • Robert Negron Jr.

My favorite is “Bus Stop”. She was fantastic in it and fresh from some of her other roles as ditzy blonde.

I do agree with Douglas (above)about her portrayal of Cherie in “Bus Stop,” but I suppose I would have to choose “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” as my favorite Marilyn film, although “The Seven Year Itch” and “The Prince and the Showgirl” are close runners-up. The MM retrospective at BAM last summer gave the viewer a good opportunity to track her development as an actress over time and to enhance appreciation of her talent in a body of work.
