Mildred Pierce (1945)
What is your favorite Joan Crawford performance? Neal Gabler cites her Oscar winning performance in MILDRED PIERCE.
A Woman’s Face is such a great film. It is underrated for solid performances, appropriate touches of comedy, a great supporting cast and Ms. Crawford’s phenomenal portrayal.
Jean Negulesco’s 1946 film, “Humoresque” – Joan has finally arrived as a glamorous and mesmerizing screen star – the movie is touched deeply by “madness” and, with that finale, becomes genuinely unforgettable.
Yeah, Humoresque is so great. She was so solid in that movie, so on the mark. As usual… She was SO underrated/misunderstood for so many reasons…
