The Nun's Story (1959)

The Nun

The Nun’s Story was considered a departure for Audrey Hepburn, and most critics consider it her finest performance. What is your favorite Audrey Hepburn performance?

Reel 13 Classics host Neal Gabler thinks The Nun’s Story is her best acting job, but that Breakfast at Tiffany’s is her most iconic performance.

My Fair Lady, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and The Nun’s Story are all examples of three completely different genre yet her performances are breath-taking.

I like so much of Audrey Hepburn’s work – and, of course, I do have a fondness for the film that made her a star, “Roman Holiday” – but I have a real weakness for her 1959 film, “Green Mansions”, because, for me, she was the perfect embodiment of William H. Hudson’s heroine, Rima.

Thank you 13 for presenting this fantastic movie. The Nun’s Story was Audrey Hepbunn’s best performanace and best movie ever. It is one of my favorite films. The photography and scenery are magnificent. I find it really offensive when I read stories about Audrey Hepburn’s life and her other movies are mentioned and The Nun’s Story is ignored!

I like the one where she is watching TV a lot to be on the gameshow and then her son has his arm cut off because of heroin. There is the character “Little John.”
