The Color Purple is an excellent movie and play. We just saw it at the 1894 Grand in Galveston. We have the movie of it and I’m glad more people will see this movie.

This is one of my three favorite films. Every time it shows on TV I must watch it despite having the DVD. I am greatly disturbed when I meet people who have never seen or heard of this film simply because it highlights very real issues of American history. Thank you Thirteen for showing it.
